This is a fully DIY wedding in Rosie's mum and dad's field, so it will be rustic and rough around the edges. There won't be some of the luxuries included at an official wedding venue, but we hope you'll feel at home. Coordinators on the day will be our lovely family and friends, so please bear with us all and listen up if there's any directions.
If you're thinking of making a night of it, camping in the field is very much encouraged! Alternatively the nearest accommodation options are nearby in Ludlow.
Here's a link to some accomodation options in Ludlow.
By Car - There is parking available in the field. If you know other guests attending, please try to car-share where possible to help us keep the number of cars to a minimum. There’ll be lovely groomsmen directing you with parking when you arrive.
By Train - The nearest train station is Ludlow. The wedding venue is only 2 miles from Ludlow, but there are no public transport connections, and there isn’t a suitable route for walking from town. We advise organising a lift from another guest you know or getting a taxi.
By Taxi - We have reserved Ashford Cars for local trips to and from the venue, (timings and phone number are below). Please note, if you use this service you will still need to pay a standard fee on the day. We would encourage you to pre-book as phone signal can be patchy at the venue. Phone Stuart on 07968 890 696.
🚨 Please pre-book to avoid disappointment on the day, especially
evening arrivals where the taxi service will be running with a
reduced capacity. 🚨
Daytime arrivals: 12:00 - 13:00
Evening arrivals: 18:00 - 19:00 (reduced capacity)
Leaving the party: 22:00 - 00:00
We'd love you to wear whatever you feel fabulous and comfortable in, anything from semi formal to formal wedding guest attire.
The only thing we ask is to please wear flat comfy shoes that aren't too precious. The field is uneven with tufty grass and plenty of molehills, and the woods/ ceremony areas are very soft and sandy. We also recommend bringing wellies/boots in case it’s rainy or muddy. We’ll all be in the same boat so no need to worry about being underdressed (even the bride won’t be wearing heels)!
There’ll be plenty of marquee cover, but even if we’re treated to sunshine you’ll need warm clothing for the evening as everything is outdoors. We're really hoping for an outdoor ceremony, and may decide to still go ahead with this even if there's a spot of rain, so please bring umbrellas/raincoats.
Daytime guests - please aim to arrive by 12:30 for the ceremony beginning at 13:00. Make sure you have time to park up and get yourselves settled. If you’re camping there will be time to set up your tent later in the day.
Lunch is planned for around 15:00. We’ll have canapés after the ceremony to keep you going, but you’ll need a good brekkie before you arrive.
Evening guests - please arrive anytime from 18:00 onwards. There will be buffet food available from around 19:00 and the band will start around 20:00.
We’ll have an external bar on site, run by a local team. Please be aware that the bar will be card only, so please don’t bring cash for drinks.
Campervans are very welcome. There will be toilets, drinking water, and space for tents – bring everything else you’d normally take camping in a field. Please don’t make your own fires on the ground, there will be fire pits available.
Daytime guest campers - don’t worry about pitching your tents when you arrive, there’ll be time to do this after lunch.
Evening guest campers - we recommend arriving at 18:00 so you’ve got time to pitch up before the evening entertainment gets going.
The field is wonderful for kids with tons of space for them to run around and not need too much supervision. There's just a few areas to take note of safety-wise that also apply to tipsy adults:
Tools - Inside the large round shed, behind the hessian panels there are lots of tools that may be sharp or dangerous.
Fires - If it's dry weather there will be firepits and open flame lighting outside.
River & pond - The river is in the woods which surrounds the field, and there are some shallow areas that are great for playing and paddling. However some parts have a steep bank with ground that is soft and crumbly, and areas of deeper water. The pond is in the garden, with lots of critters for kids to look at, but it’s quite deep and at ground level.
We really don’t expect any gifts — your presence means the world to us, and we’re so grateful for the effort you’re making to be there on the day. That said, if you were intent on giving something, we’ve added a honeymoon contribution page to the website.
